COOL HOTELS BERGEN
In 2015, chef Ørjan Johannesen, from the small fishing village Bekkjarvik outside Bergen, Norway, teamed up with his brother and won Gold in the prestigeous Bocuse d'Or cooking competion in Lyon.
The competition is regarded as the cooking world championship. After his victory he and his brother continued to develop Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri with their parents, a small hotel and restaurant at the island Austevoll outside Bergen, Norway. Today the hotel consist of the main building and several distinguished old white buildings close by, some located in the beautiful surrounding park, some at the seafront, in an old factory. (But also an landing place for helicopters, due to visitors from all over Norway and abroad)
This is a very charming place with a world class restaurant which collects much of their produce from the ocean just outside their door.
